Amazed (150)


My neck hurts, and it feels as if my legs won’t cooperate if I attempt to stand. The lights were so bright, before I was surrounded by nothing but darkness. I have no idea where I am, but I fear that it is not safe here. The noises keep coming closer. I have no idea what they are. Voices have been in my head forever, now it feels as if they are real. It all went wrong somehow. I have no idea where it when any of this ends I just hope it ends soon.


The click of the lock broke me out of my thoughts; I was amazed to see a large woman in a white uniform. “Time for your medication, we want you to get well. You want that too don’t you?”

Where am I? What are the voices? Is it all a dream or am I really in need of medication? (other than the obvious) Are delusions what I hope ends soon, or do I want to wake up from a nightmare?

For so many the delusions are comfortable and the norm. The medicine is scary when it takes your friends away...

The old house had to be up to code in less than a week. The wiring was fried, and the walls were crumbling. Demolition seemed to be the only answer but the irrational woman that had hired him insisted that it had to be fixed. It seemed she had a strange attachment to this pile of rotting lumber.
