Saturday Evening Post

Well, I've been spending a little bit of time  here  to break up the day while I work and learn new skills. I am working on my next book, the first two can be found in the bookstore at Redmund Productions  along with the books of some other rather amazing people. Seriously the books are amazing, and you don't have to have an account with paypal to order one. So go browse through, you'll find something that you like or something to give as a gift. The rains have turned what would be my garden into a nice flooded looking mess. I'll either be moving it or bordering it later in the week, once the ground dries. I'm really not looking forward to cutting the grass after all this rain. OK I have to make sure that everything that was supposed to be done has been done. Have you been busy? Is there a garden in your future?

Recap of Last Week.

This week has been an interesting one. We met a new family member, a foster fur kid. Friday saw the birth of almost a dozen puppies, eleven to be exact. I did some reading, and worked on my next book a bit. I even managed to earn some money to go to the grocery store. Now to find homes for these little critters, get their parents fixed and build up my savings account. Have a great week!

Cantina (100)

“Why are we here?” “Thought you might like a bite to eat.” “They have food here? Why?” “Just sit down and shut up.” The flashing “Cantina” sign outside made her want to scream as her head began pounding.

Friday Morning Goal

Today is Friday. The goal? Finish up the work week so that I may relax all weekend and only indulge in learning activities. Me and that short kid will be learning together. She wants to make Berry Trifle. I know because she wrote what she needed down on her dry erase board and the page was open to it in her Highlights. She only needs four things. I can add a project by making an angel food cake with her.  Her love of art requires that more supplies be purchased, and that we find storage for them.  Well, off to the weekend. Hope that your weekend will go well.

Almost the End of the Week

It's Thursday, that means only one day until Friday and Shark Tank. OK so it's a guilty pleasure. One episode of Shark Tank followed by an episode of Monk.  This weekend is designated as work free, unless you count taking pictures as work. I have a lot that I need to take and I think that it will be a nice project for me and the baby to do together. She adores having her picture taken. Well, I am off. Hope your day is going well.

Wordless Wednesday

Running Behind and Backwards

My camera would have picked the worse time to die, and the charger is nowhere to be found. I had taken some pictures, and needed to take some more, that's when I realized the battery was dead. I went to charge it only to find the charger is not where I believed it was. The baby is always on the lookout for school work. It would seem that while she learned the math skills that we didn't learn until the fourth grade or so in Kindergarten she is missing the stepping stones that got us there. Of course I don't remember these things called ten frames at all. Well, I'm off to finish working backwards and behind since I have lost half a day of work. There is some housekeeping in the schedule today which has been long neglected.  OK the baby is in need of some supervision right now.

Scurvy (100)

The men could not believe what they saw when they opened the hull. Years under the sea had degraded the mammoth ship to nearly nothing. How had it gone unnoticed for so long? Seas had to have been rough that day, according to legend the waves were hundreds of feet and twisters had come at the ship from all sides. The images that came to mind were more like those from a horror movie than a night in the 1800s. It was a bit of a disappointment when the determination came back that they had all died from Scurvy.

Ignorance is Everywhere

Ignorance was abundant today. The little girl in front of the cake? That's my baby, affectionately known at "the short kid" and she has autism with tendencies of hyperactivity and obsessive compulsive disorder. It's been approximately three and a half years since her diagnosis.  She wasn't happy with getting her hands messy Those years have been filled with therapy, meltdowns and amazing moments. The picture with the cake? Her first birthday, the only clue something wasn't right then? A few delayed milestones such as a complete lack of speech.  It would be another year before the sounds came. Then it was neither "mommy" nor "daddy" that we heard. It was short phrases from commercials. Three years of speech later she can only communicate effectively in a familiar environment. No that is not the fault of the therapist, that is the fault of autism providing my child with an inability to generalize.  I hate it for that fact. I also h

Blast from the Past

5 Tips to De-Clutter Your Home Clutter is easier to get than to get rid of but it can be accomplished. The easiest way would be not to have clutter but in a world where we are constantly, buying more and more it is difficult to avoid. When you being you should have a goal in mind, and focus on one room at a time. You will do the same five steps repeatedly throughout each room in your home to achieve a home that is free from clutter. Reduce the Mail Junk mail is a large source of clutter. It rarely gets thrown away, recycled or composted; instead, it ends up in stacks that are knocked into the floor during the daily rush. Have your name removed from mailing lists that you do not use anything from. Stacks of magazines that you never read are not doing anything but collecting dust. Cancel the subscription so they do not pile up in the future. Donate them to a local office building or doctor’s office so those in the waiting room have something to read. Sort It When you begin cl

Parboiled (150)

The table was a mess, paper were all over the floor surrounding it when she walked in to find him. He was under the table on his knees with his hands covering his head howling in frustration. “What in the world are you doing?” “I’m trying to find something.” “OK but did it actually require a small tornado to help you?” “Stop being a jerk and help me look for it.” “What are we looking for?” “The definition of parboiled."

Not a Morning Person

OK if you know me you know that I am not a morning person. So  I wasn't that thrilled with Johnny when he woke me up at 5 something this morning. Then I realized he was trying to tell me that he didn't feel well and needed to go outside to get sick. Good dog, bad mommy. I didn't want to get out of bed.  I was up in time to watch the Beverly Hillbillies. I was not as excited as you might think. Given today was supposed to be my day off (it is not) I played a minute at  Bubblews . I don't know why but it's relaxing. And now that this post has taken four tries to get up, I'm going to find something for my headache. That big kid really needs to find a job that takes him off for months at a time.

Finally Friday!!

It's Friday! Finally and I have no idea why I'm so excited. I mean I have to stay up late to work, it's the regular routine.  There are no special plans for the weekend. Just some cleaning goals for the house to make into reality.  I reevaluated my earnings for the last couple of months, and decided to go to daily earnings goals. The average at the end of the month will tell me if I got it on the head, or have more work to do. It's a bit disturbing to think about it all. I'm a bit lost in my own world lately. It's not that I don't have anything to do it's that I just spend so much time thinking about things. It's taking longer and longer to get things done right.  Well, off to figure out what I need. I am still hunting down pictures and what I need to take pictures of so I have a lot to do. The figuring out how to set things up so that they are perfect is difficult. OK off to work, play and just think a while. Have a great day.

Hmm, so this is Summer Vacatioin

Well, this isn't like the summers I remember as a kid or even like the previous summer vacations the kid has had. It could be because this summer came after full days at school, five days a week. She's growing up.  I'm not fond of that but it has to happen. I am not taking this summer off, to the contrary I am increasing the workload from that of previous summers but altering my hours.  Well, I have to go clean something. Still trying to get out what I don't need. I have decided that I need a dishwasher, or fewer dishes.

Galley (150)

The weather was nice and cool with a sprinkle of clouds across the sky. The men had been working in hundred degree heat for weeks so this was a nice break. Actually after months at sea dry land had been welcome. Rain began to pelt the men causing them to scamper back to the tents. The break from the work was an unexpected surprise but the water was making him sick. He felt as if he was going to suffocate, then they started cooking in the tent. He shook his head as they put the pots on the top of the freestanding fireplace; at least the tent was more ventilated than the galley had been.

What am I Doing??

I have no clue what I'm doing. I was hoping to work evenings and mornings through the summer. It's not working out that way neither is my plan to sleep in but I guess since summer vacation is shorter than it was when I was a kid I might not want to get into that habit. Today I would be rearranging the furniture while I work. We'll be doing math this afternoon, right now that short kid is drawing pictures.

Coffee Hot Flash

Her eyes were barely open as she stumbled down the hall feeling her way around in the dark. Her head was pounding, it always did when woke up far too early in the morning. Her only hope was that stuff they called coffee.  _________________________________ The word is  coffee , the limit was 50 words. This post comes in at a mere 43. Updates

OK it's officially the first of June. My book giveaway has officially ended at Goodreads. I have the names and addresses of the winners in hand. This morning I would be writing out the checks for bills and making the shopping list. I will be going to the post office either this afternoon or Monday morning to mail the books. I have to package them so they do not get bent up in transit first. I am expecting another payday in just a few days, and might indulge in a small portable washing machine. My comforters will need to go to the laundromat but that's fine too. OK I have to check the weather and wash a couple items before go anywhere. I got a little bit of work done already this morning, so I'll be putting off additional work until the kid goes to bed this evening. It is a weekend afterall and I want her to go to the store with me. I have a few school supplies on the list to buy before I forget about them. Yes, I know it's summer vacation but it's easier not
