Week's almost over

Well the week is almost over, the parent/teacher conference I was supposed to have today has been rescheduled for the month of April. The weekend at home, then one speech appointment during Spring Break. That means I get to stay home for 8 days!

I have some work to do, and some things that I'd like to do with the kiddo. She has only one skill area that she is below grade level in, story retelling. That is hallmark autism. She even managed to come up to grade level with creating patterns. We are on track to go to first grade next year.

Saturday she'll spend the morning watching cartoons. I'm hoping that it doesn't rain this weekend but I can't remember if it was in the forecast or not.

Well, I've got a lot of things to do so I'm going to go now.

C is for Calm

It's been so long that I'm not sure what it is anymore but I think I'm beginning to find calm. It is the feeling that allows you to find contentment in the smallest things. It does not have to be something major, it can be something as simple as a gentle breeze. There are a number of things that have a calming effect; I look forward to being able to do them. What are they? I'll tell you in no particular order. Walking on the beach. Drinking a beer by a bonfire. Sitting in front of a fireplace. Reading a book. Spending time alone just thinking or writing just to write. Calm is a nice feeling, and one that has been missed the last few years. Slowly it is returning that is why C is for calm.
